The reporter learned that traditional pressure-sensitive adhesives are mixed with organic solvents, and the coating method using traditional thermal curing equipment requires the volatilization of a large amount of organic solvents such as toluene in the pressure-sensitive adhesive, which consumes a lot of heat and electricity, and high energy consumption causes environmental pollution. The UV/EB curing technology is known as a "new technology for green processes in the 21st century", which uses ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) radiation to cure hot melt adhesive coatings. The process does not require solvent emissions, supporting solvent recovery facilities and heating facilities, zero solvent emissions, and has advantages such as safety, efficiency, energy conservation, low cost, and low investment.
"The domestically produced UV/EB curing hot melt adhesive and coating equipment fully embodies the highlights of 'specialization, precision, and novelty'," the person in charge of the China Adhesive and Tape Industry Association told reporters.
